Laguna Beach Travel Diary

I love getting to the ocean, it is the only thing CO is lacking. Therefore, we try to head to the beach every time we go on vacation. My husband and I went to Laguna a few years back and we really fell in love with the area. We were excited to get back and to bring little Caroline along this time. The first time we went we stayed at The Ritz, it is a gorgeous hotels with one of the most beautiful views, but it is very commercial. For this trip I wanted a more boutique vibe and while doing research I came across The Ranch. It is nestled in the hills, but they have a golf cart that can take you down to a path right to the beach. Although I usually want to be right on the beach, I felt like this hotel looked like a perfect mix and still had pretty good beach access. I was so glad when we arrived that it was just that and more. The communal area is where we spent most of our time, very serene and very relaxing. The food was DELICIOUS and the staff was great. I also loved the interior design of their restaurant, lobby, bathroom etc. They have the cutest bistro lights out on their patio along with live music and beautiful succulents everywhere. I adored this place and will sure stay there again. I will say if you make a trip to Laguna for sure visit the Ritz for a drink and sit on their outside patio, like I said amazing views…feels like you can see all of Laguna. The town of Laguna is also super cute, great shopping, good restaurants and the beach is right there if you want to take a stroll. The neighborhoods surrounding Laguna and in Laguna are pretty amaze too, so I highly recommend driving around or taking a stroll thru them. We just pulled right off Coast highway into a hood right above the beach and the houses and views were gorgeous! One restaurant I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back to is Cameliats… I adore Mexican food and this place was mouthwatering good. We also walked into a few places in town that were very good as well. Like I mentioned before The Ranch had really great food as well, I would stay there for dinner at least one night and their breakfast I would eat every day. So yummy! Beach, beautiful/relaxing hotel, great shopping and delicious food…what more could you ask for out of a vacation?! Next time you are planning a trip consider Laguna Beach!
